TRIBUTE: DAFT PUNK (1993-2021)

The duo formed in Paris have just announced their retirement last Monday morning with a lot of rumors, fake news and a final Epilogue on Daft Punk's Facebook Official account and also on Daft Club bringing back so much memories from the past. Just like tears in rain. Pleased to memorialize their biggest music videos below:

Da Funk
The dog from D.A.F.T. What an off-the-cuff gift! This is the beginning of a weirdo character who printed the future mask-design. In the nineties, they used black bin bags to hide their faces, later designed by the original incarnations even included some pretty attachable wigs. During the early hours of the new millennium they became into robots. The evolution of helmets is an epic history. The French duo pick up a drum sample from The Walrus of Love song.

Nosey Fact: the video was directed by Spike Jonze.

Around The World
Master music director AFTER another. The well-known French artist Michel Gondry. He initially started directing music videos during the final years of the eighties. Now Gondry is a very common upstanding figure in our days. He directed the latest videos for BjörkChemical Brothers, Kylie Minogue, Stardust and many more.

Nosey Fact: the video was the second one included on D.A.F.T.'s DVD.

Burnin'
This video is another special from D.A.F.T. video collection. The third one. Starred by firemen whose memory is still in freezer. The previously track is just an anticipation of this magnificent with a catchy bass and those acid bubble sounds.  The end of an era with no cheesy samples, odd black rhythms had started. This video was directed by Seb Janiak.

Nosey Fact: Another music video which is our favorite was included in D.A.F.T. and it was directed by a film director back in 1998.

 One More Time
A clip what started the first Moviefilm incursion in a new way of conceiving house music videos. A fusion between funk and disco vibes. In modern era the robots visited Japan. When they throw back to the 70s and 80s fizzle disco music then people noticed samples in Bernard Edwards bass or Romanthony vocal from each Reddit topic. Provided by their legacy of standard-bearers of French House/Nu Disco sounds.

Nosey Fact: in the beginning Leji Matsumoto didn't answer the callings from the robots.

Aerodynamic
An epic AC/DC sample bell. Followed by multiple elements from Sister Sledge sample uncredited disco choirs. The opening sequence is just another level to prove them visuals from a Japanese legacy master: Leiji Matsumoto.

The end of Aerodynamic is completely baroque music, a classical composition we put into synthetic form - said Bangalter about Aerodynamic.
Nosey Fact: Bangalter formed a band called Together with French partner Dj Falcon. Also owns his label: Roulé.

Digital Love
The mood inside Gap commercial with Juliette Lewis. The vocals from Chilly GonzalesSupertramp inspiration on the mix. This and a whole lot more is the reason why Digital Love means too much for DF fans.
On Digital Love, you get this Supertramp vibe on the bridge. We didn't sample Supertramp, but we had the original Wurlitzer piano they used, so we thought it would be more fun to have the original instrument and mess around with it. We use mainly vintage synthesizers, like older electric pianos like the Rhodes, Wurlitzer, Clavinet. We didn't use the Clavinet on Discovery (2001), but I usually use it in studio - said De Homem-Christo about Digital Love
Nosey Fact: De Homem-Christo ancestors are rumored to have ridden against Henry V.

Harder Better Faster Stronger
When robots' style became popular. The good West, the bad West and the weird commercial was inclusive in the one with Kanye West. They teach him how to do a mash up for charting a worldwide hit. In attention to their foray into visual work along with their first television appearance was at The 2008 Grammys.

Nosey Fact: an anonymous virtual hero make them better harder faster stronger with his own fingers

Robot Rock
One of the most tanked songs of the third album from the robots. The single was hated everywhere. It felt so unjustified that later the fans tried to bring out the good and the bad. Bangalter told Q Magazine in summer 2007 that the tune was a tribute to heavy rock chords, and so it was when DJ Hero combined it with Queen’s We Will Rock You. It was criticized for being repetitive, but Bangalter explained “to take a riff and loop it is to explore the core of rock.” The look-appearance is notable because it was just the shaky VHS style in here mate!

Nosey Fact: as divisive as it might have been the theme was included on Iron Man 2 soundtracked twelve years ago now.

   Technologic

From the moment Daft Punk's single were inside adverts such by an Apple iPod TV advert  back in 2006. Another one from Alpha Romeo in 2008. Official soundtrack on The OC series. Indeed. Our favorite track from Human After All. Misunderstood album by the massive audience. The Exhibition relief . The maestros of commercials had just reached its melting point. Do you remember the cameo together with Snoop Dogg & David Beckham in Mos Eisley cantina?

Nosey Fact: the same doll from Seed of Chucky used in the clip which was directed by Tony Gardner who also wrote and directed Prime Time Of Your Life.

 Get Lucky

The incursion on mainstream music. Catchy bass, disco sounds, funky lyrics, Pharrell on vocals and one of the most influential figures during 70s: Mr. Rodgers. The music is some of the best dance music ever produced in modern times mate. Having an unashamed pop side and a bunch of crafting stone-cold classics. The peak, the world-wide single recognition since they’ve been on course since the beginning of the nineties mate!

Nosey FactYoko Ono, Paul McCartney and Beyoncé dancing in stage of The 2014 Grammys ceremony.

BONUS TRACKS: The main incursion in House music back to 1998. The parallel project from Thomas Bangalter. Along with DJ Alan Braxe and Benjamin Diamond. The future sound of French Touch was born. Also directed by Gondry.

One of the most prolific productions in modern cinema. The track was entirely composed by the robots and the main theme produced to Walt Disney Records. TRON: Legacy supposed a fiasco on the box office but the uncut gem is within the Daft Punk soundtrack:

The pair was in collaboration with mainstream industry since 2013. The one with  The Weeknd is a huge hit for the duo, giving them a number one on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart in the US. The Weeknd wrote lyrics and Guy-Manuel was immerse in studio production since their last credited song.

If we have to create an image, it must be an artificial image. That combination hides our physicality and also shows our view of the star system. It is not a compromise by artists like Disclosure, Ian PooleyTelefon Tel Aviv and music labels as Defected or Soma showed their approval on social media last week.

          The best things:

We can still relieve Alive 2007 on IMAX 4K/Vinyl Reality:

And tributes from fans and music bands homages like this this one:

And documentaries such as BBC quality and films like this one:

          The worst thing:

Fandom knew in advance that a third Alive tour never happens after Daftendirektour and Alive 2007

A   P   P   L   A   U   S   E         F   O   R         T   H   E   I   R        M   U   S   I   C       L   E   G   A   C  Y

No more gigs. Never two without three, as the saying goes. But were have been such a fools. And yet the third and long awaited tour is something that will definitely never happen. But we keep still listening all their music legacy.

Why WorldWideWeb is nowadays a podcast bubble mate?

Just today 17 years ago a journalist named Ben Hammersley minted the term podcast in The Guardian. Since then everything started to be built-up, quite a feat in a very clear rollercoaster road to the highest peak in the past year. Speaking about my country which is the second market highly ranked in standup comedy (Nadie Sabe Nada) whereas in USA were having a massive show called SNL since the year 1974.

The Spotify Premium was able to  in 2019. Back then to The Guardian, is a pride to say that they created a top10 of books which can help you out to provide an idea of what on Earth is to create such a thing like a digital audio file and made it available on the internet for downloading directly to your computer or mobile device. Yes, Orson Welles must be proud of this invention created 66 years after his broadcasting of G. H. Wells' War of the Worlds and also Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente talking about one pioneer in my country.

During pandemic all of us spend more time inside though, so no more social activity rather than digitalone, at that point streamings are blowing dead times and time appears to be running through our fingers to not get involved in podcasting.
Intellectuals of the end of nineteen century began to suspect that the inevitable thing would soon happen: people would end up listening novels instead of reading them. BANG! Audible, Acast, Podium, Storytell and of course Apple. Since the invention of the phonograph by Thomas Alba Edison, in 1889 by far, we have been witnesses the rebirth of a new age of listening, so it's the time to warm up our inner ear mate!!!

SOPHIE: a non-stopping creative mind whose light will shine elsewhere

SOPHIE (or Sophie Xeon)  passed away in the early hours of Saturday 30th while she was trying to inmortalise a full moon from a balcony. Greek police testified at Sunday morning and said that the capture cost her life when a fatal slip provoked her an instant one-way ticket to Heaven directly departures from a third floor at her residency in Athens. She had epic soul voice, an inspired-LGTBI diva full of truth, hope and belief inside that made her unique in her style. Now we all left behind is her vibrant-detached tracks:

BIPP couldn't be more sophomoric, evocative Sound Engineering produced track which is perfectly over-bubbling enough to bring the attention to the well-fair acclaimed duo Autechre to fabric such a new mix filled with a low pitch (kind of UK Street Soul) with a vibe in it that works in the same way of the eighties freestyle-mellow voice. Like a 90s beat. This is the most epic combination till the date mate.

There is no doubt that descent into Hell was not going to be easy for an avant-garde artist like that. The track who follows-up Lemonade (McDonald's commercial inclusive) time is a famous breakthrough and collaboration with Charlie XCX lushed with a raw bass, dirty lyrics and hardly to say a special touch infused upside-down what Cardi B is. A final twist endless path that taste better off (anyway mate) to the insiders of the league of mainstream music.

The very first and only one LP. Creatively out-and-out smelling fresh dynamic balads such as It's Okay To Cry or the scary pumping hit Ponyboy. While the stroboscopic videoclip of Faceshopping (WARNING: IF YOU SUFFER PHOTOSENSITIVE EPILEPSY, BETTER NOT TO WATCH IT) is a noisy runway where soundscapes which are recorded equally as a mess in a noisy random kitchen. Fair enough. As Simon Reynolds stated for The Future Unfurled:

Discovery's legacy in PC Music has to be also considered:

They were also a couple of unofficial singles not included on Oil of Every Pearl's Un-Insides. An inconsiderable source of inspiration for the generation Z:

Also I leave a link (from German-franc Arte TRACKS Youtube Channel) about how much influenced in electronic modern era:
